Holter test: What it is
Standard ECG just provides a brief sample of the electrical activity of the heart over mere 10 seconds, whereas the Holter provides a view of the electrical activity of the heart over 24 hours. Sometimes we may not get a clear understanding of a patient problem by looking at 10 seconds data. We may need data of a longer duration.
Holter comprises a small, lightweight, electrode that continuously records ECG data. It reviews ECG data during routine activity, as well as during periods of physical and psychological stress.
