Yes. There are entities called vasospastic angina, microvascular angina where coronary angiogram will be normal but patient experiences heart pain.

CABG patients have grafts apart from native coronary arteries. To check for blockages in them, cardiologist has to give dye into coronary arteries and grafts as well. This is often done through groin. It is relatively expensive as more dye is needed and prolonged hospital stay is required.

Angiogram through radial artery is more safe and convenient compared to femoral angiogram. Less discomfort, early discharge and low complication are main advantages with hand angiogram

Radial angiogram Vs Femoral angiogram | angiogram wrist or groin

Conventional angiogram is still the gold standard test. However, ct angiogram is more convenient as it odes not need admission or insertion of a catheter inside the body. For selected low risk patients. CT angiogram is performed.
